Donate Blood...Its safe. Its simple. It saves lives.
The Blood Donor Program at Mercy Medical Center has been helping those in need since 1989. Our program draws approximately 6,000 pints of blood a year, while the patients we serve are transfused over 7,000 pints a year. Your precious gift is desperately needed. Our goal is to meet the needs of our patients and avoid the fluctuations in the blood supply which frequently occurs by providing a safe and adequate blood supply for the community we serve. We want to provide this precious life saving gift but need your help.
We all expect blood to be there if we need it, but only a fraction of those eligible to donate do. Sadly, less than 5% of all Americans donate blood. Virtually all of us will face a time in our lives when we, a close member of our family, a co-worker or our neighbor will need blood. Unfortunately, we may not know when that time will arise. If less than 5% of Americans donate blood on a regular basis, whose blood will be there for you, your spouse, your parents or even your child when the need arises?
Dont wait until after the need arises! If you are not eligible to donate you can still help. Be an advocate; SPONSOR A BLOOD DRIVE or encourage others who can help those in need to donate on a regular basis.
Donate Blood at one of our COMMUNITY DRIVES (open to the public).
DONATING BLOOD is a selfless act of kindness and is a precious life saving difference. There is simply no substitute for donated blood. Without volunteer donors, our community would not have an adequate blood supply. We invite you to join us on our mission to save lives by giving this precious gift!
